Salina Vortex Case History
Customer: Alberta Beverage Container, Edmonton, Alberta
Material: Recycled Crushed Glass
Product: Glass Bottles
Application: Convey recycled glass via two belt conveyors into two holding bins located above separate truck load outs.
Challenge: Eliminate one of the belt conveyors by locating a diverter valve that can stand up to product abrasion.
Results: Company personnel were intrigued by the features of the Vortex Aggregate Diverter. Its ability to handle and divert extremely abrasive material made it a perfect solution to their problem.
The Vortex model BDEC18-2CS-45 Aggregate Diverter was installed at the discharge of the belt conveyor. Two chutes were attached to the diverter outlets. These chutes carry material to either of two holding bins. The bins empty material into trucks that transport the material to a furnace.
With this system, material from one load out bin is discharged while the other load out bin is being filled. The system makes the loading process quicker and more efficient.
